— In a music industry now dominated by self-promotion and independent hustle, ‘Rising’ artist Valerie Rose is carving her own lane—handling nearly every aspect of her career, and doing it with a fierce, genre-bending style.

While performing regularly at Long Island venues, restaurants, and events, Valerie juggles the roles of producer, engineer, video editor, web designer, marketer, and booking agent. With no major label backing, she’s proving that passion and work ethic can go head-to-head with traditional production teams. From recording at home to releasing polished visuals, she embodies the new standard for independent musicians.

“This is the reality now,” Valerie says. “You have to wear all the hats. It’s exhausting—but it’s also empowering.”
On her full length album Rising, Valerie’s sound channels the soul of jazz, blues, and adult contemporary. Tracks like Better Happy Than Rich, Good Girl, and Enough echo the legacy of Bonnie Raitt’s  Nick of Time. But Valerie isn’t confined by genre. She followed up with LOVEBLOCK, a bilingual Latin rock mariachi-inspired single, and Take Care of You, a pop/R&B release recorded at Sabella Studios and accompanied by a stylish, retro- 60’s themed video captured and curated with Tilre Success Media.

Her latest project takes her talents to legendary territory. While participating with Richie Cannata’s The Bitter End Jam in NYC, Valerie enlisted Cannata and his renowned house band for her next two singles. The collaboration includes guitarist Jim Moran, drummer Shinya Miyamoto, bassist Neville L’Green (Gloria Gaynor), and keys maestro Mark Mancini—all anchored by Cannata’s iconic saxophone work. Together, they bring her July 4th release, Tin Can Woman, to life—an upbeat Americana groove with a humorous video shot on Nashville’s famous Broadway Strip.

“Tin Can Woman captures my essence—quirky, soulful, and unapologetically independent,” Valerie says.

With over 120,000 songs uploaded daily to streaming services, it’s harder than ever to cut through the noise. But Valerie Rose isn’t just making noise—she’s making moves.
